When The Answer Is No

Inspirational quote

When God says no, it just simply means he has better plans away from what you have imagined. It may be painful and difficult, but it will surely refine you.

It may leave you wondering but you have to believe that there is a purpose why He allowed it to happen. Trust that it will shape you and will make you the best version of yourself no matter how it may look vague.

Maybe, as of the moment, you have been undergoing testing and you can’t fathom it. Numerous questions have been bombarding your mind. And as much as you try to decipher your situation, you remain oblivious. Totally clueless.

Though you hardly understand it, you have to put your trust to Him and embrace the fact that He has a perfect and right timing. He will reveal it according to His timetable. It may not be too soon, but definitely He will.

We may both do not know when that right time will knock, but we have to keep our faith no matter what. His timetable is never align to our own time; He has his own. Yet, one thing is for sure, He will allow you to fully grasp it when you are ready enough to handle it.

For now, you have to remain still and firm. Stay calm. Trust His time. Take it slow. Believe. Don’t rush; be patient.

Because God surely knows what He is doing. He is moving even you felt He’s not. He takes control even you think He’s not. He loves you.

Remember in 2 Corinthians 4: 17-18“For our present troubles are small and won’t last very long.  Yet they produce for us a glory that vastly outweighs them and will last forever.  So we don’t look at the troubles we can see now; rather, we fix our gaze on things that cannot be seen.  For the things we see now will soon be gone, but the things we cannot see will last forever.”

Keep in your heart and mind that it is for a purpose. It will not happen just for nothing. It is never in vain and surely it works for your good.

Keep on moving forward. Take your faith higher. Intensify your prayer. Don’t quit. Keep journeying with Him. In His perfect will and time, He will reveal the purpose and you have to be ready. Prepare yourself for He will only show it once he saw your faithfulness and maturity.

Do not be disappointed. You are in the process. You just don’t know that God is already putting you to the direction He has already planned long before.

His directions will never come in a straight and smooth form; most of the time it is curvy and messy. Nonetheless, despite the twist and turn, all trials and challenges will soon lead to a wonderful destination.

And when you get there, you will finally recognize that it’s not just about the destination, but also about the process you’ve been through.

Keep the faith! Don’t settle. Keep conquering!

Romans 8:12 And we know that for those who love God all things work together for good, for those who are called according to his purpose.

Right Response to Your Situation

Perhaps one of the throbbing ideas to know is when someone close to you have something against you. But still, glad I made a right response.

I could have confronted the person. I could have easily hold grudges and maligned that individual. I could have said bad and below the belt words. I could do it if I wanted to. But at the end, God reminded me on James 4:1 – What causes fight and quarrels among you? Don’t they come from your desires that battle within you? He told me, “Hey calm down, don’t fight the wrong battle. It’s under My control.”

I realized that life is no longer about me but it’s all about Him.  It’s not about my feelings or emotions anymore or me being hurt.  It’s no longer me living in my body but it is Christ who lives in me (Galatians 2:20). Though I was hurt knowing that someone had a wrong motive to do such action, I chose to have a right response.

If we really understand what Christ did on the Cross, we will understand how easy to forgive someone who have offended us. You might be hurt because someone betrayed or maligned you. Still, we will forgive no matter how they have wounded us. Besides, holding grudges will never do something good in our lives. In fact, it is unhealthy.

Surely it was for my benefit that I suffered such anguish. In your love you kept me from the pit of destruction; you have put all my sins behind your back. Isaiah 38:17

We have to have that DECISION to just move forward and forget everything. Every testing will shape our character and will give us lessons that will help us to be mature enough to handle other situations of our lives.

Brothers, do not slander one another. Anyone who speaks against his brother or judges him speaks against the law and judges it. When you judge the law, you are not keeping it, but sitting in judgment on it.  There is only one Lawgiver and Judge, the one who is able to save and destroy. But you–who are you to judge your neighbor? – James 4:11-12

There’s no reason to fight back for we don’t fight the wrong battle, we only fight the good fight of faith. Thus, we have to learn to repay evil with good even how it was hard at the start. Do not repay evil with evil or insult with insult. On the contrary, repay evil with blessing, because to this you were called so that you may inherit a blessing.– 1 Peter 3:9. We won’t allow that such stubborn action will disqualify us to inherit the abundant blessings from God.

At the end, let the love of Christ overflows on our lives. His greatest commandment will always prevail, love each other as I have loved you – John 15:12. We have to learn to move forward for we know that our relationship with one another matters to God.

Life Lessons from Wearing Braces

Sometimes you will learn life lessons in the hard way… even if it means literally.

It’s been 1.5 years since I started wearing braces. At first, there is an overflowing excitement on your heart to the idea that you can wear your best smile once the process is done. However, on the middle of the process, those excitements can turn to strain of going back to your dentist religiously after embracing the pain afterwards.

This is the reason why I come up with this post. Here’s what I learned from years of wearing braces.

1. Negligence is costly

… and sometimes hurtful to the pocket. Haha. I learned this in a painful – literally – way after missing my three dental appointments consecutively. And due to my inconsistency, my front teeth became overly adjusted which means extending the pain of the process.

Prevention is precisely better than cure. If you don’t want to suffer extremely, then learn to do your responsibility.

2. Always consult the expert

Don’t try to solve the problem on your own. You need someone’s help. You can never overlook the expert’s experience gained over years. They see something beyond what you can see.

3. Be proactive

Don’t wait to make things worst; find ways to solve it immediately. Like for people who are wearing braces, don’t wait to feel the pain before seeing your dentist!

4. Be consistent

For you to get a good result, you need consistency. All your effort will turn into waste if your keep that bad habit of missing your appointment. In short, say no to inconsistency.

5. Learn to deal with pain

Pain is subjective and you have to learn to deal with it for it is inevitable. We all undergo pain and suffering, it just the matter of choosing the right response. Remember, no pain no gain. Just bear in mind that those pain will soon yield to a good fruit.

8 Things To Do On Your Teenage Years

As a teenager, there are so many things that can distract us from our destination. Here are the 8 things – that helps me as well –  to keep your eyes from distraction and get to the right track.

Disclaimer: I do not own the photo.

1. DREAM AS GIGANTIC AS YOU CAN

Is anything too hard for the Lord? Dreams are the language of God as Paulo Coelho said on his bestselling book, The Alchemist. Don’t just dream, but dream as gigantic as you can. Dreaming big will allow you to stretch your capabilities and push yourself to the limit. And if the Lord sees how genuine your heart towards your dreams, He will help you fulfill your gigantic dreams. Just always remember that fulfilling your dreams is not an overnight process; it is a slowly stream combination of perseverance, hard work, and positive outlook in life.

2. PURSUE UNENDING LEARNING

Don’t just settle on what you learned from your school. Go outside and learn other craft. Go to your local library or explore other places to learn new things. You can also get insight from people who excel on their chosen field. Ask their attitude, skills and habits in that way you can improve yourself and learn from them. You have to be intentional in improving yourself because growth is always intentional. Remember that if you stop learning, you stop growing.

3. DISCOVER YOUR PASSION

The Lord has given you gifts to use and unlock. Do not believe the enemy that you don’t have any. You possess skills and talent that just need to be discovered and developed. Discover what you love to do and harbor it with diverse passion.

4. LOOK FOR A MENTOR

A mentor is someone who can guide you and lead you to your destination. Find a mentor who would inspire, motivate, and push you to achieve your dreams.

5. CONNECT TO THE RIGHT PEOPLE

Bad company corrupts good character. (1Corinthians 15:33) Choose to connect to people who will bring out the best in you not the worst in you. These people are the ones who would constantly support you and believe on you.

6. BE DISTINCTIVE

You are never created to be like someone else. God wants to see the distinction between the righteous and the wicked, between those who serve God and those who do not. (Malachi 3:18). Let your life shine upon other people and allow them to see the goodness of God through you.

7. IMPROVE YOURSELF

Strive to get better everyday. We always have something to improve on. Quit your bad habits. Wake up early and make your day productive. It is never too late to improve yourself.

8. SERVE GOD

Offer your life fully to God and Serve Him with love and joy. Your service to God is not in vain. Whatever you have planted for the Lord, you will reap it at the proper time more than what you have imagined. So do not lose heart and keep your fire serving Him.

World Suicide Prevention Day

It’s been over a year since this comment has attested me how powerful blogging is. This has reminded me of using what I have to reach people and bring hope.

Today, September 10, 2014, marks the World Suicide Prevention Day which started in 2013 through the initiative of International Association for Suicide Prevention (IASP) and World Health Organization (WHO). According to WHO, About 3000 people on average commit suicide daily and nearly one million people die by suicide each year. Could you imagine that huge statistics of people committing and dying of suicide?

So what can we do? And what can you do?

Let’s bring HOPE to these suicidal people and to others!

There may be problems, hurdles, and challenges in life but that should never be the reason to end a precious life. Probably, you have a friend, classmate, or family related to you closely committing to do so. What you can do?

Be the light! Don’t get tired to remind those people that life is not really smooth sailing. That life is tough so we’ve got to face it. That there are undesirable circumstances that we need to overcome.

We have to PREVENT suicide. Prevention is always better than cure. And I believe that suicide should never happen and it does not have to happen. Ending your life is not the answer to everything that’s confusing you to think normally. Ask help and there are a lot of people willing to help you. Don’t ever think that no one is bothering or caring you because there are a lot of them willing to save you.

If you’re about to commit suicide now, throw away that idea already. Your life is so precious and there are lot of opportunities in store for you. You may feel unloved, unwanted or hated but believe me there is someone up there who really loves you so much. His love for you is insurmountable and He’s with you in your journey.

And we can only find HOPE in Him.

Encouraging your Discouraged Friend

There would be time that someone would call you, ask for your help and encouragement. He/she would entail every detail to you and he/she just can’t hold the heaviness of his/her heart and cry it out. And you don’t have any idea how to ease that pain. Only being emphatic is the  closest way to atleast carry off the burden. All you could do is to listen to his/her story and tap his/her back and share an undying encouragement.

It’s not easy to see someone in trouble especially if he/she is close to your heart. But be with him/her in his/her journey. Don’t leave him/her in such a time he/she needs someone like you who’ll remind him/her of what he/she had gone through over the past years.

If you have a friend who needs you now, don’t give up on him/her. Help him/her to rise up above on his/her situation and bring out the best in him/her in his/her darkest moment.

You don’t need to provide everything for him/her, sometimes your presence is more than enough.

The Time is Now

“You’ve got to find what you love” – Steve Jobs

You’ve got to love what you’re doing for it will consume your time. Every second is very limited, time is too precious to be wasted. So as the clock ticks, seize every second, embrace it, and maximize every opportunity. We can’t just let it fly away. The time is NOW, not yesterday or the other day. Don’t just let it pass away. Make each time to spend it with your family, friends, classmates, and to your passion. Live each day as if it is your last.

Apply this thing and you will no longer fear the unknown. You will never fear what future awaits you, what it will offer or not.

God gave us the chance to live; it is a gift. Everyday God gives us the opportunity to do the things we need to do for His glory. So don’t hesitate, face life and its challenges.

“If you haven’t found it yet, keep looking. Don’t settle” – Steve Jobs

Remember Steve Job’s word, Stay Hungry!

My 500 Words: A Writing Challenge

Just recently I joined the 500 words challenge from Goins,Writer to really beef up and flex my writing muscle. I really love writing, but like some writers’ issue, I lack discipline. hihi. Perhaps it goes with the reason that I felt I’m not good enough to write or  the pressing pressure I’ve gotten on the people around me.

Anyway, this 2014, one of my goals is to really finish the unpainted notes/articles/stories that I have. I have a lot but I left all of them hanging. haha. I have my high hopes that the said activity will coax me to be a better and a painstaking writer.

Goal: Become BETTER and CONSISTENT. hihi

Nostalgia

Out of nowhere, in the middle of the night, my mind just suddenly compelled me to watch my high school videos. Watching those videos really brought me back to that moment, remembering funny situations that happened that time. I can’t stop bursting out my loud growl of laughter which made my mom curious and gave her very own quizzical stare.

But this post is not about how I enjoyed watching the videos, it’s all about how it conveyed quick realization to end this 2013. Sadly, as much as I’d like to show,  the said videos can only be viewed with my friends in facebook due to its privacy setting. Anyhow, I can still show you the pictures of my High School days (Ready your heart, don’t tell me you have not been warned.hihi)

I was like an innocent kid back then 🙂

Let the picture speaks. This is my shortest hair ever. 🙂

TIME CAN NEVER BE TAKEN BACK. Time as quick as it passes by always provides life lesson on us. No matter how small or how petty we think it is, those moral has helped the way we face our own battle in life.

https://www.facebook.com/photo.php?v=2345167622228&set=vb.1041140294&type=3

Watching the video made by my friend when I turned 16 just suddenly brought back all those pieces of memories that made my high school life a good story to share. It reminded my personal reasons why I’d never think of exchanging my high school memories to someone or something. Those were the days that the only problems I could hardly solve were math problems. Those were the days that I would spend my day just laughing and enjoying my friends’ company  since our regular school day would end from seven in the morning till four in the afternoon.

Life has just its own phase. I’ve gone through the phase where life’s challenges were so petty. (was there a so-called “petty challenge? haha) Done with all the “tweetums and playtime” days. And I’m now with – perhaps I can already say – life’s exciting challenges.

Now that I’m 18, at legal age, I can say that I’ve experienced more than math problems, more than derivatives, or law of motions so on. Problems get better and better; overcoming it is much more exciting.

To end this post, all I can say is that… WHAT A JOURNEY FOR THIS AMAEZING KID 🙂. (Can I still be considered a kid now that I’m 18? Kid at heart perhaps) 😀

For more challenges and blessings this 2014! I’ll be seeking for more, I know that the best is still yet to come. Cheers for the new year. God bless everyone! 🙂

Embracing the Grind

When things get tough, exhaustion becomes unbearable. Your physical body seems to withdraw from your strength. your weakness tries to stop you from doing your desire and goal. But at the end of the day, it is your cause that will make you continue each and every day – your purpose to battle and face life challenges.

Besides, everything must be cleared at the very first place. Questions and doubts should have already answered. ‘Cause if not, weariness will just eat your system.

Glad I know my cause and purpose why I’m doing everything. So in times like this that I could really feel the exhaustion from my physical body, I don’t have something petty issues to entertain. I found ways to lessen it, one is to write the feeling so I can easily release it.

I need not to entertain exhaustion; I’ll just write about it instead. And truly, writing eases it,  just as it done to me right now. #relieve
