Join me as I open the chapter of my book clothed with realization, learning, devotional, and a glimpse of my personal life.

Thank you for allowing your precious time to drop by here. I may not know how you’ve got through my blog but I would just like to say thank you for visiting. You’re always welcome to come back, comment and share my post, and even connecting to me. You can reach me at airamaeguerrero@gmail.com

I’m Airamae A. Guerrero, but I prefer to be called as Amae. 19 years old from the Philippines. Yes, you heard me right. I’m just 19. Most people often thought that I’m 20-plus-year-old something. And I think I was just locked up in a 19-year-old body (Kidding!).But I’m delighted having an old soul!

One of my blogger friends once told me,

“You have an old soul, wisdom and hope all wrapped up into one!”

(Sweet words indeed).

I’ve been running this blog for four years and  I’ve been relishing the opportunity  knowing and meeting my co-bloggers which then turned to be my constant/cyber friends.

I am a Journalism student of Polytechnic University of the Philippines, looking forward to penetrate in the media industry of the Philippines… And why not even abroad? 🙂 Make the Philippines known in the world!

Anyhow, more than my personal dream, I will do my best to make my Savior and my country proud

Story of my blog (How I started blogging)

I started blogging at WordPress when I was 15. Back then, I saw this  platform as my outlet for my rants, emotional outbreak, and loathful opinions. It was all mere of selfish reason.

But someone had just soaked me to a boiling hot water which made me realize all the foolish things I’ve done. Perhaps that’s how it called me.  I then started to have a change of perspective.

From then I realized how powerful media is. Blogging itself can touch a hundred, a thousand or even a million of readers. Even so, it can change someone. It can build a reputation or even destroy or malign someone.

 Renewing of Faith
All these apprehensions of seeing the blogosphere as a powerful platform went to a higher level when I renewed my faith. I began to share my writings and got more connected with my readers. My purpose in blogging turned from mere posting of my ideas and opinions into having connection and relationship with my readers and co-bloggers.

My Dreams
I remember someone told me that I have to make my dreams public so I can have supporters who would really encourage me. So here it is, I want to be an Editor-in-Chief of a publication, a journalist that can travel and observe the tradition of other countries and  reach people – even through this blog – and connect with them to the One who made things possible and created everything.

Perhaps, some may say this is quite far-fetched but with Him everything is possible. If He can move any mountains, what more to my dreams? Only fear can halt me on reaching my dreams. But some says that when you’re not afraid of your dreams, it means that you have a small dream. So indeed I have a big dreams.

But more than everything, I am excited with the Lord’s plan for my future. I embraced His promise written on Jeremiah 29:11 For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the Lord, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.

I’m just an ordinary girl with an extraordinary God.

This is my vision for my future. I just wanna share it all.

God bless everyone!

Much love,  Amae

  2. May the Lord bless your writing. May you never let it go… you have an old soul… wisdom and hope all wrapped up into one! I have always told my daughter, your life is like an empty book just waiting for the pages to be filled! I love how you write, your positive slant on things and your love for your Lord! I am so glad you have grasped your passion for writing! I so wish I had taken journalism at your age. Taken writing more seriously, it is amazing to be able to live your passion and actually do it for a living!
Here is your empty book… all ahead of you…. now writer your heart out!

    • Thank you di You know the feeling of hearing an unexpected comment coming from a person you just know in the web. It’s really a priceless moment. It uplift my spirit of pursuing and striving my passion more. Thank you for believing in me. Telling me that I have an “old soul” is such a compliment. Thank you so much. I can’t stop thanking you for this heart moving comment. You know di, you’re the only one who told me of wishing to take journalism. Here in our country, it’s one of the underrated courses. Most people say that everybody can write so journalism is a useless course. But I don’t care about their rants, this is what I love. and this is my passion ::))), Thank you di for a heartfelt comment.

  3. Hi Amae,
I was just notified that you wish to follow my blog (marybaird.wordpress.com) and I am thrilled. After working many years in finance, I retired and God gave me a passion for writing. I suppose that proves the old saying that you’re never too old to try new things. As you said, I wanted an outlet for sharing my faith and so about a year ago I designed my blog sight. I also write for the Christian magazine ‘Upper Room’.

I will be praying that your God-given talent of writing will be used to inspire people to grow in their faith. You are young and have many years to develop that talent. And I must disagree with you on one of your comments. I think you are as beautiful on the outside as you are on the inside. May God richly bless you. Keep me posted.
    Your friend in Christ,

    Mary Baird

    • Thank you Ms. Mary. I never expected your comment. It really uplifted my spirit. My emotion is right now overflowing while I’m typing this. I just can’t believe that a writer from the Upper Room will have the time to open my blog and comment on it. Thank you so much. Seeing like you ma’am as a writer who inspires people, shares the word of God, makes me more inspired to take this path. Being a writer to any Christian publication is really something that I look forward to. It’s like doing my passion at the same time pleasing God. Thank you for appreciating my talent.

I just want to share ma’am that I’ve sent a meditation article to the Upper Room, whether it will be accepted or not. I’m still happy ’cause I tried and I just wanted to share it to more people. God bless Ma’am. I hope I can have more conversation with you. You really inspire me.

      Amae.

  5. Hey there, I’m a Journalism student in PUP too (well, technically, I’ll graduate this year so that makes me future Alumnus, I guess)

I really love your blog! Keep up the good job. And stay faithful to the Lord. I wouldn’t make it half of my four-year stay in PUP without Him.

I’m glad I was able to find a fellow Journ course here in WordPress. Although I’m leaving COC, it would be great if we can be friends here and hopefully, in real life. I’m planning to teach sometime in the future there, just to give back, and it will be my pleasure to impart some of my experience for you younger Journ students (Although we’re already achieved a Center of Development status for Journ, I feel we have to beef up the Journ faculty to match the standard XD)

It’s really nice to find you here 🙂 Hoping for your reply! God bless and take care!

  13. Hello – I just wanted to let you know I think you have a great blog – and I love that you are ‘dreaming big’ – one of my favourite quotes is this one – hope it encourages you too – it’s by Marianne Williamson:
“Our deepest fear is not that we are inadequate. Our deepest fear is that we are powerful beyond measure. It is our light, not our darkness that most frightens us. We ask ourselves, Who am I to be brilliant, gorgeous, talented, fabulous? Actually, who are you not to be? You are a child of God. Your playing small does not serve the world. There is nothing enlightened about shrinking so that other people won’t feel insecure around you. We are all meant to shine, as children do. We were born to make manifest the glory of God that is within us. It’s not just in some of us; it’s in everyone. And as we let our own light shine, we unconsciously give other people permission to do the same. As we are liberated from our own fear, our presence automatically liberates others.”
    Good luck!
    Alyson
