World Suicide Prevention Day

It’s been over a year since this comment has attested me how powerful blogging is. This has reminded me of using what I have to reach people and bring hope.

Today, September 10, 2014, marks the World Suicide Prevention Day which started in 2013 through the initiative of International Association for Suicide Prevention (IASP) and World Health Organization (WHO). According to WHO, About 3000 people on average commit suicide daily and nearly one million people die by suicide each year. Could you imagine that huge statistics of people committing and dying of suicide?

So what can we do? And what can you do?

Let’s bring HOPE to these suicidal people and to others!

There may be problems, hurdles, and challenges in life but that should never be the reason to end a precious life. Probably, you have a friend, classmate, or family related to you closely committing to do so. What you can do?

Be the light! Don’t get tired to remind those people that life is not really smooth sailing. That life is tough so we’ve got to face it. That there are undesirable circumstances that we need to overcome.

We have to PREVENT suicide. Prevention is always better than cure. And I believe that suicide should never happen and it does not have to happen. Ending your life is not the answer to everything that’s confusing you to think normally. Ask help and there are a lot of people willing to help you. Don’t ever think that no one is bothering or caring you because there are a lot of them willing to save you.

If you’re about to commit suicide now, throw away that idea already. Your life is so precious and there are lot of opportunities in store for you. You may feel unloved, unwanted or hated but believe me there is someone up there who really loves you so much. His love for you is insurmountable and He’s with you in your journey.

And we can only find HOPE in Him.

Happy to Serve

Perhaps some people would not understand what you are doing. They think it’s insane to put other people first than yourself. But they just don’t know what joy it brings to serve.

The moment you embrace and understand what service truly means, you begin to love and enjoy helping other people.

You may be spending the rest of your life serving other people and it seems like no one appreciating it. You have done everything to do well, yet other people are still against you. What you think the right way to do, seems like wrong with others. You know that you’re doing your part, but some people think you’re just doing it to gain something.

But take heart. DON’T MIND THEM. Do not mind what people would tell to you. Do not mind if the circumstances work against you. Do not mind if others are just laughing at your cause or if they’re not buying on your vision. Do not hold on their mockery.

Just continue what you have started. For if it is for the good of other people, there will always be a huge comeback in store for you. Whatever you have done for the sake of the others, it will also happen to you. Maybe the time is not yet the right time to happen, but surely it will happen on right moment and season of your life.

Your effort and labor will not be in vain. Don’t stop doing the good cause just because others are not with you. Because you may not believe it, but whatever you are doing will impact the world. It will take part on the transformation of the world. You will be an influence and you will be part of the history.

You may not be seeing it for the meantime but you have to see it and prepare yourself for it will surely happen.

So always put a smile because there is always joy in serving. Even if it is physically demanding, even if it gives you sleepless nights, and even if it demands your time. The joy in serving will always remain the same; it will always be priceless.

Your life will only be worthwhile when you come to understand and embrace the heart in serving other people.

“The best way to find yourself is to lose yourself in the service of others.”
